Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions

I'd like to know from those who have information, when did the old Warwick Bus Station open? Wikipedia reckons 1987, but Landgate (click icon top right, click camera when menu appears and select aerial photography from list on right) shows a structure there since 1983.

LEGO Transport

Back in perhaps 2012, I got Lego City set 8404 - Public Transport Station - consisting of a coach/regional bus, a tram, street sweeper and an open-top yellow car with small shop and platform. Of course, being younger then and having two younger brothers meant that the set didn't stay up for long, be...

Re: MIE Bold Numbers Help

Good evening AirBusTrain . The bold numbers are likely not a standard Mobitec font, but a font installed on PC. To change the font, highlight the number (as shown below) and press the 'A' circled in red to open the font dialog window, where you can access any installed Mobitec fonts as well as PC-in...

Re: PTA/Transperth approach to bus network reform

I've regularly followed Melbourne On Transit, well written articles on a well-prioritised and structured blog. Thanks for the nice write-ups PaxInfo , always a wonderful read. It's interesting seeing three approaches to bus reform explained in parallel - the extreme all-in-one-go (Adelaide), the mid...

Re: Knoll faces Liberal Party revolt on bus cuts

I definitely agree, another well written post on a well maintained blog. I think a big thing in this is that Adelaide went for every bus route at once, with a skim-over investigation rather than a deep dive into each route and releasing each area of change over time. The lack of information was also...

Re: Volvo electric bus

Their biggest test would be the Circle Route, especially a full trip. I have not yet seen a Joondalup bus operate a CircleRoute, but I'm happy to be corrected. A good test for them would be a 389, testing long-distance medium-high speed running under some heavy loads during peak. A Whitfords/Warwic...

Re: VOLVO’S FIRST ELECTRIC BUSES IN AUSTRALIA DUE MID-2021

Although I agree that a new bus should be tested where it is easy for assistance to be sent when and where needed, little would be gained from this experience. I think that at least one of the buses (there are four, originally there were only 2 Joondalup CATs) should be deployed to Joondalup, Clarks...

I'll have to double-check the shifts again. If so, that spells the end for 1830-1833.

I received the distinction on riding 2887 on its first day in revenue service, according to the driver, on my regular 387, indicating it is at Beenyup. Meanwhile, 2888 is at Joondalup.

I initially intended to release the next two sections (western and south-eastern) services together, however I have encountered some delays in developing the south-eastern list. Hopefully, over the school holidays, I will ...

A month since upgrade, and the parse error seems to have gone for good - although I don't want to say 100% it's gone, since my sayings sometimes have a habit of jinxing themselves. I have adapted to the new quirks and features such as visual design of this new system now, although I do still miss th...

Re: Future of the board

Although this wouldn't be necessarily enough to say anything, I think that the summary given by Fleet Lists does show that the transport side of things is definitely slowing down. Whether because of cultural influence or the COVID-19 situation is beyond my ability to answer, but I think it's at leas...

Re: Southlink 3310 near Aldgate - Sun 28/06/2020

On that, I did find this thread with photos by Nathan Crisp, otherwise known as our crispy , with the big Transitplus logo over it. It is nice to break up the white, but really what I meant was a differently coloured panel or some sort of livery on the front. Such a livery would have my vote as Adel...

Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?

In my experience, body type also affects the sturdiness, as well as gearbox and engine. For example, most CNG OCs in Perth are still sturdy, save for the older 1800s and 1200s. A Voith B7 in a CR228L body is also quite sturdy, but Voith B7s in an Optimus body have the most horrible rattle. ZF B7s in...

Ah, the TransitPlus livery. If there was something to break up the white front, this would've been the second-best looking livery Adelaide buses have held, only bet IMO by the RedMet livery.

I feel as if it is a little bit early, but WA will be headed back for normal life (minus the Westralia border) from tomorrow! I'm actually excited.

So, as of tomorrow, all WA will still have in terms of COVID is a small amount of cases, restrictions for remote Aboriginal communities and that Westralia border. In other words, life is set to head back to normal, except for that border!
