Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD
^ From memory the eastbound High St shared lane isn't used by any route buses as all eastbound route buses towards Randwick use Barker St.

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD
The intersection at Anzac Pde and Alison St's is starting to show it's importance. I've been involved with logistisc this week to get gear to a festival in Centenial Park, and its been unpredictable to say the least. But here me out... The massive intersection upgrade that started a year or two ago...

Re: Route 420 Eastgardens limited stops - Direct via Qantas
I would likely lean towards it being a backup desto for the 420N as from memory the alcatel destination units have a memory constraint meaning they are unable to have 4 digit route number displays.

Re: Sydney's demographics are changing
I would prefer to see particularly on shorter routes high-capacity rigid buses this already exists in Europe and closer to home in RHD market Singapore. A typical 12m bus in Singapore has capacity for 90 passengers typically around 35 seated and around 55 standing surely this can be brought to Sydne...

Re: STA Observations 2019
I note that 343s are now using the City Martin Place destination board in both directions. It appears all services are now supposed to show “City Martin Place” followed by “then Kingsford” or “then Chatswood”. Surely this is highly confusing given there are services that actually terminate at City ...

Re: STA Observations 2019
Due to high amount of patronage, Free Bus 22T4 operated this weekend with Articulated Buses. As the result, some free 333 services were operated using rigid bus only. I would've thought other depots that have substantial bendy fleets could've operated 22T4. This weekend with STA doing rail replacem...

Re: September 2019 timetable changes
How was the 342 not mentioned Sydney's shortest route as one of the lowest patronage seriously doubt there are more than 10 that use in a whole year. Including the 362 is silly it only runs during the summer and from memory on weekends only as well.

Re: STA Observations 2019
Though it is interesting since during the 2000s & early 2010s STA would exclusively order from Custom Coaches until the order for Volgren 18m bendies then later for the Bustechs. Some notes STA does lack any buses of Euro 6 standards and hasn't ordered any Mercedes Benz chassis buses since early...

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2019
^The real-time train data wasn't working accurately due to all the delays hence why no display time until the next train. Large number of people waiting wouldn't be surprising since it would have been more than 30 mins since an Airport train had stopped. Another small note with the delays yesterday ...

Re: STA Observations 2019
Saw an odd desto today on 2569 it had the usual 372 Railway Sq desto but then on the next scroll it said Connects with City Bus. This makes no sense at all did someone perform a little mix up in the programming.

Re: Sydney Bus changes 28th July 2019
Eastgardens doesn’t have much layover on the lower level can get very congested though can be managed by through routing or have buses set-down return to depot I.e P or going directly to the next termini. Maybe long term solution is build a bus interchange in between Pagewood Green development &...

Re: 30/6 and 1/7/2019 Transport alterations
Are there any 400 runs that use the 14.5s in the new STA shifts from 30/6? The two weekday AM shifts that used to run with a 14.5 appeared to all be VSTs last week and today. Due to the progressive withdrawal of the 14.5m long buses, there are no longer any weekday 400 trips operated by them, as ST...

Glad they have delivered 2 new Scania K310UB Custom CB80 Series 2 buses to Randwick; as Randwick hasn't had any new buses for quite some time. If your looking for them the fleet numbers are: 2979 ST and 2980 ST. :) Those would be the first two since the Ivecos came in five or so years ago. R doesn'...

Re: State Transit / Transit Systems Ansair Orana Retirement
A possible option could be to remove some of Port Botany's bendy buses probably the 1.5 door buses and re-allocate them to Willoughby. P has some extra bendies if they no longer use them on the Botany Rd services as prior to November 2018 and removal of bendies from R off the 304. 14.5m buses howeve...

Re: State Transit / Transit Systems Ansair Orana Retirement
Partial solution could be increasing the capacity of existing 12.5m buses to at least 80 passengers by removing seats and increasing standing area which would perfectly fine on Anzac Parade services to prepare for Light Rail and its minimal seating or along the 304/309/309X &310X services where ...

Re: State Transit / Transit Systems Ansair Orana Retirement
Can't forget on on 400/410/420 services where they had exclusive fleet for those routes very useful on Rockdale to International Airport during morning peak or between Eastgardens & BJ. The only high capacity buses allowed through the lower level of Westfield Eastgardens be a loss for the 391/39...

Re: STA Observations 2019
^ I did see something even more rare a Merc O405NH gassie on the 355 yesterday normally exclusively the Scania Bustech VSTM must have been a case of no more VSTMs left since 12.5m bus are restricted on the 355.

Re: Inner West Light Rail observations
I wonder if Alstom has put in Australian strength air conditioning in the Sydney 305s or will they be sweat boxes too? This is what worries me the most about the Citadis. They seem have gotten everything else right such as multiple doors, flowing interior layouts and well damped wheels, but with ou...

^Valid point about red artics on metrobus routes having long dead running I see often a bus have to run empty from Botany all the way to L or even back to Gore Hill. Minor change to the 370 now running via Mitchell Road & Fountain St this route keeps having more detours added to it first it was in Randwick now in Alexandria adding an extra 1-2 mins each way maybe instead it should run via Huntley St & Bourke Rd then right into Botany Rd. It should seriou...

The m20 will also be an orphan of sorts though I think there is an interchange with metro at Crows Nest. It could be re-numbered to 320 or 220.

Re: NSW Future Rail Plan - NWRL/Metro/Harbour Crossing
The easiest conversion and the one makes the most sense is the Airport-line to Revesby extending to Glenfield wouldn't be too difficult with the wide corridor. It would serve the Airport stations better in terms of passenger luggage and speed-up the current all-stop Revesby services. Often by Mascot...
