There was no chassis as such.
The predecessor to the Denair was the Mono, standing for Monocoque, meaning mono constructed or integral.
Usually fitted with a Detroit Diesel engine, Fuller or Spicer gearbox, Eaton or Rockwell Diff with either Eaton or Rockwell brakes.

Re: removing the toilet ??

There is probably three styles of toilets that were used. Can you either supply a picture of the toilet or get the model of the toilet please. The information should be on the inside of the lid if it is still visible.

Re: lewis bros/redline

Hi grey ghost My father is Ray Collins. He was with Redline from around 64 to 68. Redline had four Lewis bodied coaches. One of them burnt to the ground at Mt Coot-tha lookout. This was the one that Dad was driving when he met mum. This was at the Carnival of Flowers at Toowoomba. If you do a search...

Re: Nostalgia:Roadhouses/Petrol Stations Of Australia.

One of the roadhouses that I have noticed go backwards is the Three Ways. I would not say it went backwards fast as my visits over the last 30 years have been drawn out. What I would compare to a thriving 24 hour a day town has turned into a quiet roadhouse with half empty shelves, at times poor cus...

I asked Ray Collins yesterday about the Coomalie Creek accident and he said that he took the coach back to Denning to be repaired. Go down to Bunnings and buy a garden sprayer then fill it with brake fluid. Take the sprayer end off and connect the hose to the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder. What I do is then remove the hose from the bottom of the reservoir and put it into a container. Loosen the bleed nipple and pump up the...
