Re: Kinetic Melbourne Discussion Thread 2022
Also, wonder whether we will ever see Kinetic's PTV buses #228 and #230 on the Metropolitan routes (i.e. the ones that they got before they took over). I know it's probably unlikely since they also run that Deer Park shuttle, but you never know... They will NOT be appearing on route service due to ...

Re: CDC Group Discussion Thread 2021
On a trip out today I saw one of the 601 Express liveried buses out on CDC route 605. I don’t know whether it’s rare to see the route 601 route on another Oakleigh operated route or not but thought it seemed a bit unusual JRBUS123 Route 601 buses (except for #171) do drift elsewhere when the 601 is...

Re: Transdev Melbourne Discussion Thread 2021
Almost all of the Volgren Volvo’s (ex Grenda’s/East West) in Transdev’s fleet have had their “smartbus” stickers removed and have now permanently moved off orbitals and into non-smartbus routes, with the exception of occasional runs on DART routes. I don’t know whether they still have Smartbus PIDS...

CDC Ballarat #172 is still in Ballarat. The #172 for the shuttle is ex Buslink Darwin #172AirBusTrain wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 2:25 am58 and 63 has the Futurebus rear ends.
I have a feeling it could be 6367AO being a Scania L94UB from CDC Ballarat depot.
Will probably go up Tuesday if this rain eases.

Re: Who operates buses in St Kilda and Brighton?
Three operators dominate the St Kilda & Brighton areas * Transdev North Fitzroy (246 through St Kilda) * Transdev Heatherton (600, 603, 922 & 923 through both) * CDC Melbourne Wyndham (606 through St Kilda) * CDC Melbourne Oakleigh (623 through St Kilda & 626 through Brighton, Route 630 ...

Re: CDC Group News 2020
Seems like all the destos on the Optimuses have been reverted back to their old font, especially at the back of the bus. #O145 and #O174 both sporting the old font format. Prefer that anyways, easier to see compared to the new font trialled up until now. #145 has the updated destination file fitted...

Re: CDC Group News 2020
Not sure how common this is but I think I just saw a Wyndham based Volgren CR221L operating the 625 to Elsternwick service. Has this bus been transferred to Oakleigh or is it still Wyndham based? I say this because the bus number and depot sticker was on the top right hand corner of the bus, which ...

Re: Victorian Route & Timetable changes 2020
Route 605 has had it's third terminus change in just two and a half years.
The route has been further extended up Queen Street to the corner of Queen & A'Beckett Streets due to recent works on William Street making the old Flagstaff Station terminus redundant.

Re: CDC Group News 2019
Just saw on fleetlists that Huntingdale is receiving bus #171, an articulated bus, which I think is a first for CDC Huntingdale. Seems like the hybrids are finally coming on to the 625/626 from Monday based on this Hybrids have not been given the green light to operate elsewhere other than on the 605/630 in the short term. This diversion was due to CDC's frustration with PTV over the lack of action on the Well St Rail Bridge...

Re: CDC Group News 2019
Also observed on weekend 605 trips. All 3 buses observed last Sunday on 630 and 605 were hybrids. The arrival of the Hybrid’s has also seen Oakleigh stop using L94UB Scania’s and Denning Low Floor monocoques on weekend services. Ah that makes more sense cheers. 623 usually uses older buses, so make...

Re: CDC Group News 2019
Could the hybrids work route 612? Route 612 should be OK as well as Route 623 on weekdays given there’s no low obstacles on these routes. The Hybrid’s wouldn’t be able to run weekend 623’s due to most 623’s through run with Route 624 (ie a service dead runs from Glen Waverley to Oakleigh to run bot...

Seems like all of CDC Oakleigh's hybrid buses are on the 630 for now. I've seen 152, 157, 159, 160, 161 & 162 all operating the route over the past week. I guess the straight section along North Rd makes it easier to test out, as there's less turns for the drivers to master on the new buses, pl...
