Re: New Bus

As they are small/mini buses I wonder why they didn't choose an electric bus given the hype over global warming.

Re: [July/Aug 2020] SA transport observations

Doesn't that mean some numbers will be repeated? I thought that once a number had been used on a particular vehicle it wouldn't be used on another.

Bus stops along South Rd have been renumbered. Notable ones are Castle Plaza (was 15, now 13) and St Mary's (was 24a, now 23).

I believe there will be some exchange of buses between Lonsdale and Elizabeth Depots prior to the new contracts commencing on Sunday.
Wondering when this might take place-ie. Friday night or Saturday?
Happening already. Buses are being swapped in the city mid shift

Southlink probably had it that way by accident. Can't see them having given it that much thought tbh.

It must be an error. I heard from someone who works there years ago that it is officially called Edinburgh North. I've mentioned this several times.

Even over the radio, you'll hear eg 'Edinburgh North to 1385', not 'Elizabeth'.
Pretty sure you wouldn't given 1385 is not a Southlink bus.

Re: Knoll faces Liberal Party revolt on bus cuts

Will all this increase confusion and cause annoyance? Probably yes. Even if one takes the cynical perspective on these changes, how they can they 'increase confusion'? There are less routes and variations as a result of the proposals. It will increase confusion because, in the Outer South at least,...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals

Edinburgh Depot fleet and drivers will go to Elizabeth Depot.( to operate J1,500,502). There has been no such thing as "Elizabeth Depot" for several years, since that part of the suburb of Elizabeth West was renamed to Edinburgh North. The depot, for the last few years, has been called "Edinburgh N...

Will all this increase confusion and cause annoyance? Probably yes.
Will all this be better for the travelling public? Probably not.
When all this becomes an election issue will the current govt blame the previous Labor govt? Definitely yes.

Re: Consultation on new AdMet Network

Introduce more bus lanes and properly police them. Anzac Highway should have one running the full length, so should South, Marion and Goodwood Roads. South and Marion ones would join the Anzac Highway one and Goodwood Rd could join the one on West Terrace. That's how you increase patronage. Pollies ...

Re: Consultation on new AdMet Network

Re the proposed 711 route, sending buses down the length of Edward Beck Drive will only serve to gridlock the entire area twice every school day. The new route should enter Berrima, left into Edward Beck, right into Great Eastern and left into Young St which is pretty much the exit from Sheidow Park...

Re: Question: Does varying from the published route where there are no stops really matter?

I can't say I've ever seen a 222 use that part of Prospect Road, but 209Fs do. I've heard that not completing a route causes some kind of "alarm bell" to ring in the system, but I've observed some drivers on express runs calling their depot to get approval for a route deviation due to traffic conge...

Re: Question: Does varying from the published route where there are no stops really matter?

The 222 and other Main North Road buses has the published route on the timetable heading North from Stop 6 O'Connell Street as being along Prospect Road, then turn right on to Fitzroy Terrace, then left on to Main North Road to Stop 7 Medindie. At the moment roadworks on Prospect Road through the p...
