Re: Tv Plate Question

Murrays entry to the sydney charter market was not with TV plates but the purchase of a sydney route service which allowed them charter plates - at the time normal rego st...

Re: 1977 volvo b58 coach leaking water into oil

I would check water pump. it can leak into sump if seal is blown. much cheaper than head gaskets. Should have a drain hole for water pump on under side

Re: Menai vs Deanes vs Southtrans

Mostly correct just a small error, Barry Smith was the previous owner of Menai Bus Service and had died prior to the sale of the business by his wife Carol to Ron Deane. Ron Smith was the workshop forman at Menai Depot after the take over of Menai Bus service. -

Re: NEED HELP PLEASE MOTOR WILL NOT FIT

The Volvo THD 100 Engine will fit into an AEC. Like any conversion you need an adaptor plate for transmission coupling and engine mount modifications along with exhaust pipe changes , inlet air plumbing changes as well. If the Volvo doesn't have a fluid flywheel fitted you can source one to allow mo...

Re: Country Bus Contracts

Gotta laugh at the flippant response of would you want many of them to survive. Most rural services are mainly for the provision of school transport and operated by small family concerns. I am sure they would prefer to survive ! As far as more responsive on demand services , I think that's called a ...

Re: Friday Flashback: South Western Bedfords & the Bendy

Chrome anything was a pipe dream at South Western, we stuck to brakes steering suspension, which was hard enough considering a fleet of 20 bedfords 2 scania's and a Volvo bendy in 1986. Most of the bedfords completing up to 14 hours a day on a high traffic route of Hurstville Miranda.

7517 was another good vehicle from the Woronora fleet, no reason why the chassis / engine combination won't continue for many years. And yes it will be the same operator.
