Re: Leyland 0600 and 0680 Questions.

How does the respected 0680 compare in durability to Mercedes compact high revving 11 litre om407h as seen in it's 0305 bus? Leopards worked alongside 0305s for 12 years (as well as Royal Tiger Worldmasters for about half that) in the P.T.C then UTA of NSW bus fleet. The MB om447h has a very strong...

Re: Region 1, 3, 12, 14 - Successful tenders news

Agreed with burrumbus. I think a bit more respect is required towards Neil and his new Transit Systems Sydney operation. It certainly is a difficult and complex task which has been undertaken. All it takes is a handful of new drivers to make a few mistakes on their first few runs, such as missing s...

Re: Region 1, 3, 12, 14 - Successful tenders news

What is the situation with the drivers who used to work under the old Region 3 operators and WSB? Did TSA retain them or will it be mainly all new drivers? I understand that TSA was obligated to offer all drivers the opportunity to transfer, although in practice not all did. Of course those who did...

Re: New buses in south west Sydney Get Lost

Well if you actually read the article the principal of the school concerned said that in fact no students were late as exams did not start until 11.20am. Once the Daily Telegraph/2GB sink their teeth into this deepening fiasco a Minister will be resigning! While the principials of TSA got their sta...

Re: Region 1, 3, 12, 14 - Successful tenders news

The T80 would be the easier route to know, yet drivers are still managing 25 minutes late running. I waited for 40 minutes until 3 showed up at the same time. Also, the use of the Austral metroliners on the T80 is a step backwards The T80 is now intermixed with other services. Also 10 Metroliners o...

Re: Thanks to WSB

You need to be realistic the first weekday of operation for any new operator especially one that doesn't have other operations in that particular city is going to be a bit bumpy. If after a week it's still happening then it's time to complain. Region 3 is a particularly difficult and unique operati...

Re: Thanks to WSB

Its difficult to take gregrudd seriously. Firstly to suggest that TSA is short of low floors is absurd given that only 26 out of 212 buses in the fleet are not low floor - well in excess of the prescribed requirements for this stage of DDA implementation. Secondly I question how someone "located at...

Re: Thanks to WSB

This isn't levelled at TSA, but to remove T80 from WSB before Opal is introduced would seem to drag out the boarding times as people lose the green machine access and now have to rely on driver marking TravelTens/Multis, and then issuing these little paper receipts. Already a lot of passengers want...

Re: Thanks to WSB

I agree the WSB team did a terrific job but to make judgements about the new operator based on the first day of operation would seem a bit premature. There will always be initial problems. Perhaps reserve your judgement for a month or two down the track. You mean they have got less than a week to s...

Re: Thanks to WSB

And best of luck to the new operator (Transit Systems Australia). Judging by their performance in Perth over the past eighteen years, expect plenty of innovative and passenger-friendly initiatives from Neil Smith and his crew. Judging by their first weekday performance they have a long to go just t...

Re: Region 1, 3, 12, 14 - Successful tenders news

I didn't see any used on T80's but did see one doing an 805 from bonnyrigg to Cabramatta. All the T80's were done by the new volgrens and CB80's or ex westbus volgrens. I did see one on outbound on the way in to Parra. However I did notice a few disgruntled passengers and others asking what happene...

Re: Region 1, 3, 12, 14 - Successful tenders news

[/quote] Correct. The ex T80 buses have had their LPT stripes removed and are are now used anywhere within Region 3. From today the T80 is being run by any Region 3 bus, so its a mixed bag of colours. Green machines are no longer fitted so drivers now mark off the TravelTens by hand. That may slow t...

At risk of going off topic, any essay based entirely on forums and websites is going to be shonky and shows just how lazy you are. Get out and do some of your own research... I am using the site mainly for information relating to electric tram classes (and the locations of remnants, so I can explor...
