Re: Brisbane Transport Observations July 2013
I am surprised no one has mentioned Toowong, after all they always steal (no, I meant "borrow" and hardly hand them back)the MAN diesels'. I also believe Toowong has a massive Gas Man and will have all the other Diesel MAN's , with the blue gliders going to Toowong. It's also good they hav...

Re: Brisbane Transport Observations July 2013
I thought it was 150/140/130 were still to be full use of HCV's. I've seen 66 operated by rigids in peak :O
I still don't understand why BT can't shift some 14.5m's to Virginia and give the southern depots some rigids to help save some $$$. Cough Cough 333 could use 14.5m's, even on weekends.

Re: Bus depots closing - Richlands and Bowen Hills
Jim Soorowly and his mates are going to build High Rise and City Cat terminal on the Creek, just like he did at Light Street, Boardwalk and Marina B Creek overlooking Hoppy's Carwash. Moreton  Well I know Bowen Hills can't be used for highrises/residential development this is due to the land ...

Re: Brisbane Transport Observations June 2013
Well an obvious solution to save costs is to run amalgamate Buz's. Ex. Does the 333 need to run at 10pm alongside the 340 and can't the 330 go via the Northern busway to pick up the 333. or the 111 does it need to run alongside the 111/140/130? Surely at night there cn be some significant savings be...

Re: Bus depots closing - Richlands and Bowen Hills
Also on the news yesterday was a snippet of a reduced order for buses from 90 to 60. With Bowen Hills closing (maybe)?? is there land to expand at any of the garages close to the city?? Virginia is restricted by a creek and a road on each side and units at the rear. I suppose reallocating bus route...

Re: Bus depots closing - Richlands and Bowen Hills
Richlands is a good move, the land has better uses. Bowen Hills, Very bad. Bowen Hills is the closest depot to the City and is also the closest depot to 199/BCG. Eagle Farm is going to have to pick up the northern shortage of buses (pretty obvious when 333/199 have to be done by Toowong), future Nor...

Re: Traffic Jam
Could a train line along the SEB and connect through CRR be the solution, like a Perth style operation? Running the train every 90 secs to 5 minutes during peak. With feeders at every station. I believe in Paris they run trains every 90 secs during peak. With the Mater Hill -City section being conne...

Re: Brisbane Transport Observations May 2013
In the eyes of the public they just happy to have a low floor air conditioned bus and it makes sense to minimise the number of makes and models in each depot for maintenance. To the eyes of children - A bigger bus. To the eyes of the public - A bus that carries more people and less people left behi...

The Queensland Government represents the interests of everybody in Queensland, not just the people of Cooloongatta! So this is why we don't have DST!boronia wrote:Not as stupid as having Tweed Heads and Cooloongatta running different times. Gotta change your watch every time you cross the street?

if it was me I would keep the NBN for all reigonal areas, but have no or last priority NBN for metro areas. The Reigonal areas suffer from having slow internet compared to the metro areas. Reigonal Australia will benefit the most economically than the metro areas. In most metro areas the internet sp...

T1304 has all of its rear gas stickers removed and has no rubber around its fleet number. It's just painted yellow at the back.
I must say 1304 looks naked from the back.

Guys it's more to do with BT's objective in getting a duplicated crossing from Cultural Centre to Adelaide St. So it is in BT's interests to have a congested cultural centre.

What did I say a month ago? Could smell this coming. I can't honestly say I'm happy to be vindicated - I would have been happier to be wrong and for this to have resulted in meaningful improvements. Fat chance. Best possible outcome - the minister finds his balls and rejects this WOFTAM and goes ba...

Re: SEQ bus network review
Good points - 310 goes via Airport Link 369, 66+109, 199
Bad points - umm 160 is still functioning.
By far this is the symbol of waste. You have the 111, 150, 555 etc... all duplicating the 160 route. I don't understand the real need to run this route.

Re: SEQ bus network review
Pretty bad.
88 to be cut
66+109 Merger
77 Offpeak is to run hourly (Words can't express my disbelief)
199 via Ivory St
369 to run every 20 mins
BT has now neglected several areas of having BUZ's now.
