Re: AAT Kings' "Piano Bar Bus" at Armidale Mall

Found this on AAT Kings' website if you haven't already, detailing the Piano Bar Bus' travels: https://www.aatkings.com/piano Seems like a weird concept to me (And fairly impractical too for anything other than promotion) and would cost a lot of money to convert and then convert back to an ordinary ...

AAT Kings' "Piano Bar Bus" at Armidale Mall

Hello All, While I was on my lunch break from work on Wednesday (20/07/2016) I was quite surprised to see this bus parked and exhibited in the mall! http://www.busaustralia.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-15494 http://www.busaustralia.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-15495 http://www.busaustralia...

Re: Recent Mercedes-Benz O405 photos

The ZF versions are slower off the mark but have more gears to keep the engine revs lower and therefore increases durability and fuel economy as well as offering a much better top cruising speed. The ones with Transdev, Mt Kuringai will sit on over 110km/h flat chat as I personally witnessed on the...

I know that, but the ZF howl in its place is still grand!

(And that post of me quoting myself was a stuff-up, by the way - only just realised that it happened)

You're very lucky Swift! Perhaps I should catch a Busways CC O405 while I'm in Sydney next time.

Re: Recent Mercedes-Benz O405 photos

Part 2 of my "recent O405 collection". Edwards of Armidale's O405s finished service in April-May 2016 upon the arrival of new Iveco Euromidi school buses to replace them. Not surprisingly, the Ivecos are now rattling more than the O405s ever did. Here are some pictures of Edwards' two ex. Quinces un...

Recent Mercedes-Benz O405 photos

Hello All, In the last 6 months or so, I have witnessed the phasing out of Mercedes-Benz O405s from both Sydney and my home city, Armidale. Naturally, I took a fair amount of photos of these beasts during this time as I will probably not experience one again for a long time now. I thought that I wou...

Re: Private Operators April 2016

Hi everyone, some rather major updates to the Edwards Coaches fleet in Armidale. Edwards are currently taking delivery of five Iveco Delta school buses (Custom Bus SB50 bodywork) which will be the first seat-belted school vehicles in the fleet. These will conform to the current Government scheme aim...

Re: Various Sydney Bus memories

Oh it's 1827, the Voith demonstrator Mark I! That picture may also have been taken when it had the Voith in it too. If that is the case the photographer of that picture got a fairly lucky find there! What was the original livery of 1923? - I thought it was blue. Both the liveries the Mark Is had wer...

Also a topic of interest regarding the description of the bottom picture (Doesn't relate much to the thread), in that you said you drove Atlantean 1059 during the HCVA tour in which 2634 was pictured. I know 1059's current whereabouts - it is laying derelict on a property off the New England Highway...

Re: 1225 and 1226 - Enquiry on PTC/UTA Mercedes-Benz O309Ds

Oh that is brilliant! Thank you so much! I think that "variation" of the Mark II livery on 1225 looks very good in my opinion. In fact possibly even better on a bigger bus. Considering too that these entered service in October 1978, these also could have been some of the first (Alongside the first M...

I also really like these pictures. Thank you LocoLes!
One particular picture that I like is the third-last one (So far), where I can assume on the left is 1923 before it got repainted to its original livery.

Re: "A Day on The Green" 2015

The two 15.220s simply have changed registrations to the current numbers (6197 and 6198 MO) from my observations. Also, a Bonluck coach which is in the Edwards fleet, Currently TV 3888, is not in the Edwards Coaches fleet list. However I don't know any more details with this particular one such as i...

"A Day on The Green" 2015

Hello All, "A Day on The Green" this year took place today (Saturday, 21 November 2015), a departure from previous years when they took place in March. I didn't care for the actual concert though - instead I ran around town taking photos of the many buses taking people from around Armidale to Peters...

Re: 1225 and 1226 - Enquiry on PTC/UTA Mercedes-Benz O309Ds

When they were withdrawn from Newcastle, they were directly replaced by brand new Mk2 mercs 2099 and 2100 (which would otherwise have gone to Waverley). 2099 and 2100 were new to Newcastle as per original allocations, but how could they have replaced the O309s when they were still in service in New...

BV 19 ZC seems to be ex STA 1839 - current rego not shown in disposal list, Yes it certainly is. It was withdrawn in October 2013 by Jeffery and was sold to the Imperial Hotel shortly afterwards. It is largely in Jeffery condition (Such as a luggage rack on the inside left of the vehicle) sans the ...

A couple of pictures from Tamworth

Hello All, Earlier today I drove to Tamworth do do personal errands, but I managed to do some bus gunzelling, and here are the (Relatively few) photos that have surfaced from it. On Brisbane Street I managed to snap two modern Buslines Group vehicles, each doing runs to other towns. Seeing these (An...

Re: 1225 and 1226 - Enquiry on PTC/UTA Mercedes-Benz O309Ds

They were ordered as service development buses. They were initially used on route 100 serving the War Veteran's Home at Collaroy Plateau, which became part of route 146, which is now part of route 179. They were then used for route 101 from Dee Why to Chatswood, as route 136 only operated from Manl...

Oh thank you LB608 , that was a quick response! I knew someone would know about them. On non-widespread topics like buses there seem to be many cases that even these days, minor details are not on the internet and only known in memory by some people or in some publications. This must to be another o...

1225 and 1226 - Enquiry on PTC/UTA Mercedes-Benz O309Ds

Hello all, I would like to ask, out of interest, for more information regarding two Mercedes-Benz O309D minibuses (Numbered 1225-1226) in the PTC/UTA that has been lingering in my head for a long time now. From what I can find not a whole lot of information about the two buses is online. There is a ...

Re: Sydney Bus Museum - Farewell to George Street, 3rd Octob

The Mk1 O305 wasn't getting much love from the passengers (probably too new to be appreciated!), but I thoroughly enjoyed it. When I was on Merc 1923 at the event I actually did notice two fairly young people talk about 'catching buses like this during primary school'. So some nostalgia is there! I...
